ABOUT ME
Samantha Lyver-Foley, RMT
I graduated from Eastern College in 2014 with a diploma in Massage Therapy and started my career in May 2015. I successfully completed the provincial board exams administered by the College of Massage Therapists of Newfoundland & Labrador (CMTNL) and hold active memberships with both the CMTNL and the Newfoundland & Labrador Massage Therapists Association (NLMTA). While in school, I found a passion for treating individuals with neurological conditions like spinal cord injuries and neural tube defects. Other training I hold include Cupping Therapy and Yogassage. Cupping Therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which local suction is created on the skin; practitioners believe this mobilizes blood flow in order to promote healing. In addition I have been trained by Yogassage founder Kelly Donald; a Registered Massage Therapist and Yoga Instructor. Yogassage is a class of Yoga and Massage, in a heated room, with music playing in the background where each client holds the posture for 2.5 – 5 minutes. Each posture is done on your mat with non stop hands on adjustments from the Yoga instructor and the RMT. I plan on continuing my education by doing courses in other massage therapy specialities as well as myofascial release etc. When I am not treating clients, I can be found enjoying the great outdoors or relaxing at the cabin.
